Summer Short Term Missions
An informational meeting was held last Wednesday, kicking off an early start for recruitment of leaders and members for SMU’s Summer 2010 mission teams. Normally, teams begin forming after interterm, but this year, the Short Term Missions Department has decided to start a bit earlier.
(Unofficial) SMU Week: You Don’t Want to Miss It!
This week (November 2nd-6th) SMU will be hosting several events for the student body, including two chapels, an SMU Family Night, and a lunch on Metzger Lawn.
Missions Conference 2010
The 2010 Missions Conference is not until March, but the event is well under way with volunteers applying and coordinators chosen. The coordinators will be leading a large student volunteer staff in the organization and planning of Missions Conference.

Interterm Missions Teams Already Forming
SMU will be sending six student teams to Europe and Africa in January. The trips and their leaders have been established and interviews for team members were completed during the last week of September. All teams will be finalized in a week, according to Director of Research Brian Smith. Many of the trips are focused on children’s ministry in partnership with churches and local orphanages, but each team has something different to offer:
